The judging panel will assess each project using the following metrics, with a total of 100 points available. Each criterion is weighted to reflect its importance:
- Problem Definition & Solution Clarity (20 points)
- Description: Does the team clearly understand the problem and its impact? Is the proposed AI-driven solution innovative and effective in addressing the problem?
- What Judges Look For: Clear articulation of the problem, a well-defined AI-driven solution, and an innovative approach that effectively addresses the issue.
- Impact & SDG Alignment (20 points)
- Description: Does the solution align with at least one UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG)? Is there potential for measurable impact growth along with increased revenue?
- What Judges Look For: Strong SDG alignment, potential for societal or environmental impact, and a scalable approach to achieving measurable outcomes.
- Business Viability & Scalability (20 points)
- Description: Is there a clear business model? Does the team demonstrate an understanding of unit economics and profitability? Does the solution have a sustainable competitive advantage?
- What Judges Look For: Practicality, cost-effectiveness, a viable revenue model, and a clear pathway to scaling or maintaining the solution post-hackathon.
- Technical Innovation & Feasibility (15 points)
- Description: How advanced are the AI technologies and frameworks used? Is the solution technically robust and well-executed? Does the AI model perform effectively?
- What Judges Look For: Technical soundness, appropriate use of AI models, data quality, and implementation feasibility, including ethical considerations like fairness and transparency.
- User Experience & Design (10 points)
- Description: Is the prototype user-friendly and visually appealing? Does the solution provide a seamless experience for its intended users?
- What Judges Look For: Well-designed, intuitive, and accessible user interface (UI/UX), ensuring ease of use and a positive experience for the target audience.
- Presentation & Communication (15 points)
- Description: Is the problem, solution, and technology clearly explained? Does the team effectively articulate the business value and AI integration?
- What Judges Look For: Engaging and structured presentation, clear articulation of the AI-driven solution, and compelling communication of its impact and feasibility.
